INFO
Folio Forum are a series of free Thursday evening events, during which established and emerging artists/photographers discuss their work with a specialist in a public environment. All are welcome to attend, partake in the discussion and see new and emerging bodies of work.
This session will be led by Fergus Heron, photographer and senior lecturer in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Brighton.
For those showing their work, these sessions provide a chance to experience speaking about their work in public, to articulate concerns, aims and plans for their photography and to ask opinions in an open and honest environment.
Feedback from the attending audience is a vital part of the events, which are free to attend, with no booking required for audience members.
Submission Process
These sessions are great for those who do not have access to regular feedback and feel they would benefit from some specialist and peer-led critique of their work.
Sessions are not for showcasing a wide range of work, but instead aim to support the photographer to think through particular practical or conceptual challenges related to a specific series or project.
Photographers are selected on their work's relation to the background or expertise of the programmed specialist. They will be expected to make a short presentation on their work which will be followed by constructive feedback from the specialist and audience.
To apply email daniel.blight@tpg.org.uk with 8 low-res jpegs of your work and a description of why you would like feedback on a particular series or project. The deadline for submissions is 12:00, Friday 9 November. Two to three successful applicants will be contacted by 18:00 on this day.
