INFO

Please join us for the launch of Girl on Girl, the first in-depth study of contemporary photography by women who are united by their exploration of the female subject. The book is published by Laurence King Publishing.

The author of Girl on Girl, Charlotte Jansen, will  chair an informal panel discussion with featured photographers Juno Calypso and Maisie Cousins, and editor of Broadly UK, Zing Tsjeng, on why it’s important that women photograph women, and why it is about much more than feminism or femininity.

The talk will be followed by a book signing of the author and the artists.

Juno Calypso is an award-winning artist living and working in London. She stages photographs of herself as a fictional character, Joyce. Her latest series, The Honeymoon, was shot at a couples-only honeymoon resort in the USA.

Maisie Cousins is an artist from London. Her approach to making art is hedonistic and self satisfying. She explores themes of power, femininity, nature, technology, the body and indulgence.

Zing Tsjeng Is a culture journalist and the UK editor of Broadly, Vice's women's vertical. She has written for BuzzFeed, The Guardian, Vice and Dazed & Confused

Charlotte Jansen is an arts and culture journalist and editor-at-large at Elephant magazine.
