INFO
Oliver James, clinical psychologist and author, proposes that the consumption integral to capitalist society rules our lives to such an extent that we cannot see how it is destroying the planet. These values are so ingrained that we find it hard to believe we will not fall apart if we stop. In this lecture James will discuss the idea of denial and climate change, and how in 2012 things might be changing, perhaps for the better.
Oliver James is a clinical psychologist and influential author of a number of books including Affluenza, They F*** You Up and Britain on the Couch, which was also a documentary series for Channel 4.
This lecture forms part of a series curated by Edward Burtynsky to directly address issues arising within the exhibition.
