In 2011 The Photographers' Gallery invited the influential Swedish photographer Anders Petersen to undertake a four-week residency in London’s Soho, as part of a series of offsite projects supported by Bloomberg.

Petersen is known for his intimate, intense style shot in high contrast monochrome, and he has produced a series of striking images that capture the essence of today's Soho while drawing the viewer back into the depths of its history.

The results have been compiled in the book SOHO, co-published by Mack and The Photographers' Gallery.
