Ritu’s room, a refuge in the Black Country, 2016 © Susan Meiselas
Join acclaimed Magnum photographer Susan Meiselas for a talk related to her Multistory project and publication A Room of Their Own.
A Room of Their Own is a visual narrative combining images, testimony and collages. It was created through a series of collaborative workshops with photographer Susan Meiselas and women in refuge over 2015 and 2016. The project was commissioned by the West Bromwich-based arts organisation Multistory.
A photograph from this project features in our Touchstone display from 3 May to 11 June 2017.
The event will be followed by a free booksigning at 17.30 in The Photographers' Gallery Bookshop.
Susan Meiselas (b. 1948, Baltimore, Maryland) joined Magnum Photos in 1976 and has worked as a freelance photographer since then. She is known for her documentary work across a range of subjects and relationships over time, in particular her coverage of human rights issues in Latin America.
