This event is part of our Past Programme

Since 2018, Emma Agnes Sheffer has been collecting repetitive imagery from Instagram within a specific aesthetic genre of ‘adventure photography’. Lining up sets of nearly identical images, Sheffer questions the meaning of originality and how internet aesthetic trends influence our reality. Sheffer shared her screen during a work session as she selected images, sorted them into categories and created compositions for her project while explaining her methodology and answering questions.

Screen Walks is a new series of live-streamed artist/researcher-led explorations of online spaces and artistic strategies designed to illuminate a thriving – often overlooked – digital cultural scene. A new online collaboration between The Photographers’ Gallery, UK and Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland.
