Archive & Study Room

Please note: The Photographers' Gallery Archive plans to re-open for pre-booked, research-based visits from September 2020. We will continue to respond to enquiries by email. See our FAQs for more information about The Photographers' Gallery's reopening on 14 July.

The Photographers' Gallery is an independent, public gallery, established in 1971. We are in the process of cataloguing material related to our past exhibitions, talks, events and projects, as well as our building and functions as an independent, public organisation.

Our Archive documents the Gallery’s institutional history.

Archival material includes exhibition-related publications, posters, installation and press images, catalogues and correspondence; recorded talks from photographers and visiting specialists; video interviews with exhibiting artists; marketing and design material, and other ephemera.
