Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Protect yourself and others by following NHS guidelines.

We have taken the decision to close to the public from 17 March 2020 after much consideration, and to ensure the health and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and participants.  Although the building is closed, our staff are working remotely and we will continue to be active online.  All ticket holders for scheduled events with be automatically refunded.  We will continue to monitor the situation and review our policies over the next few weeks and in line with official guidelines.  Please stay in touch and look out for updates.

Accessibility & General Info 

The Photographers' Gallery is committed to ensuring equal opportunities and accessibility for staff, artists and visitors.

The main entrance is at street level on Ramillies Street, off Great Marlborough Street.  The building is DDA compliant and has a lift to all floors. We have wheelchair accessible toilets and baby changing facilities on the third and fifth floors.

Assistance dogs are welcome. A water bowl is available on request.  

We programme British Sign Language-led or interpreted, as well as audio-described, exhibition tours. Entry to talks and events is free for companions accompanying visitors with a disability. See the What's On section of our website for our current programme.

Gallery information:

Photography is encouraged everywhere.  Any questions welcomed at our info desk.  Our galleries are air-conditioned throughout and fully accessible by lift and stairs.  

Food and drinks are not permitted in the galleries and mobile phone usage is discouraged so as not to disrupt other visitors’ experience.

Unfortunately we are currently unable to offer cloakroom facilities or lockers and do not have the capacity to store personal belongings, luggage or other bulky items.  We apologise for any inconvenience.
