We are delighted to announce we will be re-opening to the public on Tuesday 14 July, 2020

We will be trialling new opening hours and days and we will have in place a number of social distancing and public health measures to help protect against spread of infection. These include:

  • One-way systems
  • Protective equipment for all front-facing staff points of contact

The Photographers' Gallery is committed to ensuring equal opportunities and accessibility for staff, artists and visitors.

The main entrance is at street level on Ramillies Street, off Great Marlborough Street.  The building is DDA compliant and has a lift to all floors. We have wheelchair accessible toilets and baby changing facilities on the third and fifth floors.

Assistance dogs are welcome. A water bowl is available on request.  

We programme British Sign Language-led or interpreted, as well as audio-described, exhibition tours. Entry to talks and events is free for companions accompanying visitors with a disability. See the What's On section of our website for our current programme.

Visitor Information

Photography is encouraged everywhere.  Any questions welcomed at our info desk.  Our galleries are air-conditioned throughout and fully accessible by lift and stairs.  

Food and drinks are not permitted in the galleries and mobile phone usage is discouraged so as not to disrupt other visitors’ experience.

Unfortunately we are currently unable to offer cloakroom facilities or lockers and do not have the capacity to store personal belongings, luggage or other bulky items.  We apologise for any inconvenience.

Group Visits

Groups of 10 or more will need to book self-led visits of our exhibitions in advance. 


Education Workshops

A limited number of pre-booked workshops for schools, colleges and community groups are available on a first come, first served basis.
