What is Develop?
Develop is a three-year programme (2023-2026) that supports and commissions emerging creatives aged 18-24 through a series of talks and workshops around a photography-based outcome each year.
What’s happening in 2024?
The theme for 2023/4 is Making an Exhibition, with a focus on photography and archives.
A collective of six young people have been commissioned to curate a show for Summer 2024 at The Photographers' Gallery. They are working together from January to June in preparation.

How can I get involved?
If you are aged 18-24, you can still take part in the monthly career talks. Bursary places are available, alongside paid places. These events run from January to September 2024.

Develop 2023/4 timeline:
September - December: Making an Exhibition workshops and talks open to everyone aged 18-24s
Friday 15 December, noon: online applications open to be a part of the curatorial collective
w/b 8 January 2024: shortlisting and interviews for curatorial collective begin
w/b 15 January 2024: curatorial collective selected,
January – June 2024: monthly career events open to all 18-24 year olds continue; curatorial collective work begins, including six months of mentor sessions, meet ups and support from gallery staff.
June 2024: exhibition opens to the public
June - September 2024: exhibition-related events take place, organised by the collective
September 2024: New themed Develop programme begins for 18-24 year olds
