This event is part of our Past Programme

Hear the exhibition curators of Sunil Gupta: From Here to Eternity. A Retrospective in this hour-long talk

This online event features Karen McQuaid (The Photographers’ Gallery) and Mark Sealy (Autograph), curators of the current retrospective of artist Sunil Gupta. Gupta has been using photography as a critical practice since the 1970s. Subversive, impulsive, personal and political, his socially engaged projects have focused on issues such as family, race, migration, and the complexities and taboos of sexuality and homosexual life. He has been instrumental in raising awareness around the political realities concerning the fight for international gay rights.

Together in this hour-long discussion, they will give insight into the exhibition, the artist’s work more broadly, and his ongoing influence on generations of photographic activists and LGBTQ+ rights campaigners.

Details on how to access the talk will be confirmed upon registration. Please check your junk folders if you haven't received an email from TPG staff confirming your place.

Watch this event from Thu 22 Oct 2020, 18.30 GMT
