Introducing Tish Murtha: Curators' Talk + After Hours View
18:30 - 20:00
Join exhibition co-curators Val Williams and Gordon MacDonald, with TPG Senior Curator Karen McQuaid to discover the remarkable work of documentary photographer Tish Murtha.
Current exhibition Tish Murtha: Works 1976 – 1991 draws together series of photographs uncovering the lived reality of political policies, social deprivation and communities struggling to survive in austere and transitional times across Britain and the North East. Parallels to contemporary living conditions, austerity politics and growing social inequality bring a timely urgency to viewing Murtha’s work.
Following the talk there will be an opportunity to explore the exhibition outside of normal gallery hours.
