Soho Then: stories and photos of Soho
13.00 - 17.00
A drop-in afternoon event, with cake and tea, coinciding with our Soho Then project, sharing photographs and stories of Soho’s past.
Soho Then will result in a series of themed podcasts related to Soho's rich and complex heritage. It involves interviews with a range of individuals who have lived or worked in Soho for a sustained period of time. Each interview will take photographs of Soho, from a breadth of sources, as its starting point. Children from Soho Parish Primary School will contribute to the podcasts by recording soundscapes in the area.
This event coincides with the Tish Murtha: Works 1976-1991 exhibition, featuring a body of work made in Soho and commissioned by The Photographers' Gallery in 1983.
Soho Then is produced by Clare Lynch and commissioned by The Photographers' Gallery.
