Youth Workshop: Photographic Diary

11.00 - 16.00

For 12-16 year olds

Inspired by polaroids from the Wim Wenders exhibition, participants will learn how to create a visual notebook of their day – from capturing still surreal moments on the street, to the brilliant chaos of Soho and all of the nuances in between. Working with DSLRs, students will learn how camera settings can help them to achieve different types of images such as blurry backgrounds, or sharp, focused movement images.

To start, the group will visit the Instant Stories: Wim Wenders Polaroids exhibition, using this as inspiration for their own photographs. Everyone will finish the day with an inspiring collage of images, which will depict a visual diary of their time with us.

A limited number of DSLR camers are available to rent for £10 – these are allocated on a first-come first-served basis, by emailing before the workshop. Participants not hiring a camera will need to bring their own.
