Why support TPG
For nearly 50 years, TPG has been the UK's leading centre for the presentation and exploration of photography in all its forms and home to an international photographic community.
We depend on support from our visitors, members, patrons, donors and sponsors who share our love of photography to continue our programme of exhibitions and events, provide opportunities for young people to develop their skills, and help support emerging talent.
We are the original home for photographers
TPG was established in 1971 as the first independent gallery in the UK dedicated to photography.
We curate a programme of exhibitions, events, and education initiatives showcasing international photographers, commissioning new works from both established and emerging artists, and provoking debate around photography’s role in society today.
TPG Print Sales offers a dedicated space for the sale and exhibition of works from new and established international photographers. Every purchase supports our public programme.
Education, access and social inclusion are at the heart of who we are and inform everything we do
We offer an accessible programme of courses and workshops for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
Develop is a programme of talks and workshops dedicated to 14–24 years old.
Teen Tours is an educational programme designed to empower young people and inform audiences with fresh perspectives on TPG exhibitions.
We are committed to supporting artists in developing their practice and ensuring new photographic practices are given a public platform
TPG New Talent is an open call exhibition and mentoring programme aimed at showcasing and nurturing emerging photographers based in the UK.
Folio Fridays are public portfolio review sessions hosted by Creative Director of Metro Imaging Steve Macleod.
The Social is a monthly networking event for photographers to meet, discuss, and share tips and advice around a chosen theme.
We continue to push the boundaries of form and presentation and lead the way in championing photography for everyone
unthinking.photography is an online resource exploring photography’s increasingly automated, networked life – mapping and responding to photography’s role in contemporary culture.
