In a practice that combines photography and printmaking, Ingrid Pollard uses portraiture and landscape to interrogate themes of nationhood, ownership, history and identity. Delve deeper into the work of the British artist in this online talk.

The conversation will be chaired by artist, archivist and researcher Ego Ahaiwe Sowinski.

Biographies

Ingrid Pollard is a photographer, media artist and researcher. She is a graduate of the London College of Printing and Derby University. Ingrid has developed a social practice concerned with representation, history and landscape with reference to race, difference and the materiality of lens based media. Her work is included in numerous collections including the UK Arts Council and the Victoria & Albert Museum. She lives and works in London, UK.

Ego Ahaiwe Sowinski is an archivist, artist and PhD student at Chelsea College of Arts (UAL)/Tate Britain. Her doctoral research places much needed critical attention on Jamaican born sculptor and philosopher Ronald Moody (1900–1984). She holds an MA in Archives and Record Management, International (UCL). She is a member of the Remembering Olive (Morris) Collective 2.0 and the Afrofeminist Transatlantic Collaboration, a collective of artists working between the UK and Minneapolis, forging engagement dedicated to rest, play, dreams and co-creation. Her practice aims to develop collective, collaborative, archival strategies in relation to physical space, environment, the public and the personal in relation to the Diaspora.
