Two collaged photographs form a dyptich. The photograph on the left depicts two men and a dog in a landscape. The photograph on the right depicts a crowd scene. Both photographs are overlaid with a grid with some squares removed and replaced by squares from the opposite photo.

This diptych is from a series of work entitled Crucigrama (Crossword Puzzle). The patterns that the artist uses for this series are taken from different crossword puzzles published in newspapers.

Iñaki Bonillas (b.1981, Mexico City) works with photography and printmaking. His practice frequently makes use of images from archival sources including those from his own family.

This diptych featured as part of the Touchstone programme (2012-2020). Each display consisted of a single photographic work on the Eranda studio floor where visitors were invited to respond to the question 'What do you see?' using the cards and pencils provided. A bench was placed in front of the work, encouraging people to spend a little longer than they might usually. The programme was part of a wider series of projects and activities related to visual literacy.
