Join this discussion and short screening of the film series Gut Feelings Meri Jaan by artist Jasleen Kaur

This event is part of our Past Programme

Following an exclusive screening featuring excerpts of her new commission Gut Feelings Meri Jaan currently on display at Touchstones Rochdale (until 13 February), Jasleen Kaur and the group from Rochdale’s Pakistani, Bengali and Punjabi communities who have worked closely with the artist over a number of months, will explore the nature and experience of collective practice, public participation and the politics of labour in creating artwork, both from the perspectives of the artist and the participants.

Gut Feelings Meri Jaan, a series of films that interrogate how cultural memory is preserved and archived, exploring ideas around identity, inheritance, belonging, land, migration, ritual and healing.

The event coincides with Helen Cammock’s new film at The Photographer’s Gallery, Concrete Feathers and Porcelain Tacks, which was also developed in partnership with Touchstones Rochdale and brings together local residents and community groups to explore individual and collective experiences of being part of a local community.

Presented in partnership with UP Projects.

Details on how to access the talk will be confirmed upon registration. Please check your junk folders if you haven't received an email from TPG staff confirming your place.
