In this new talk organised in collaboration with 1000 Words, we look at the bonds between looking and writing, seeing and “entering” images. Featuring contributions from art historian and curator Taous Dahmani, artist and critic Lucy Soutter, and artist and curator Duncan Wooldridge, we will explore their individual working processes, their motivations, and key concerns and ideas in the study of photography today.
This event will be chaired by Tim Clark (Editor in Chief, 1000 Words) and coincides with the publication of Writer Conversations (2023). In addition to those mentioned above, Writer Conversations includes contributions from Tina M. Campt, David Campany, David Levi Strauss, Christopher Pinney, Joanna Zylinska and Simon Njami, alongside many others.
