By submitting your application for TNT 23 you are accepting the following Terms and Conditions.
These terms and conditions constitute the entire and only agreement between you and The Photographers’ Gallery. The Photographers’ Gallery is a not for profit, independent, educational charity (registered charity no. 262548).
- You have been living in the UK since January 2021 and you live here for the majority of the year (more than six months).
- You confirm all the works submitted are your own and you have the intellectual copyright to use, exhibit and distribute them.
- Your artistic practice uses photography as a central component.
- You have not published a photography or artist book with a third-party publisher (see ‘Who can enter’ in FAQs for further explanation).
- You have not had a significant solo exhibition (see ‘Who can enter’ in FAQs for further explanation).
- You are not a staff member at The Photographers’ Gallery, or a sponsor or patron of TPG.
- You understand that you are only permitted one individual application to TNT per edition, and you cannot enter other work under any other name.
- You understand that the name, captions, texts and images or moving image files you upload to the TNT 23 submissions site will be reviewed by The Photographers’ Gallery curatorial staff, and a shortlist of 50 submissions will be reviewed by Hoda Afshar.
- The Photographers’ Gallery will only accept applications submitted through the submissions website. Submissions sent by post or email will not be accepted. The Photographers’ Gallery cannot offer feedback on any individual application.
- If selected, you allow your images to be used online (including social media and other platforms) and in print for marketing, press, promotional and educational purposes related to the TNT programme and The Photographers’ Gallery’s wider activities. Any images used will be fully and accurately credited when sent to press and third parties by The Photographers’ Gallery. Copyright for all texts and images remains with the artist.
- As the outdoor display of the work will be in the public realm, you accept that The Photographers’ Gallery may need to edit or crop your work so it is appropriate for showing in the public arena. The TPG team will involve you fully in discussion about any edits.
- If your application is successful, your name, text and selected works will be uploaded to The Photographers’ Gallery website, social media channels, the bespoke exhibition website, and will be accessible to the public. Your work will remain part of the Gallery’s online archive for an indefinite period. Occasionally images may be cropped for the purposes of fitting website or social media formats, this will only be done when absolutely necessary.
- The Photographers’ Gallery reserves the right to edit extended texts submitted through the application process. This will be done in consultation.
- All submitted information, text and images are your sole responsibility, not The Photographers’ Gallery’s, and do not breach any third-party copyright. You are entirely responsible for all content that you have uploaded or made otherwise available.
- You do not hold The Photographers’ Gallery, including its staff and trustees, responsible for any losses, claims, liabilities, expenses, damages, and costs, including reasonable legal fees, resulting from any violation of these Terms and Conditions or any activity related to the service (including negligent or wrongful conduct) by you or another person.
Submission requirements
- One or two photographic series - with up to 16 images in total (file format: .jpg file size no more than 3MB per image).
- A brief description of each series (up to 400 words per series), a personal statement (up to 200 words) in support of your application and optional individual image captions. There is an option to upload an audio version of text if preferred (audio files up to 3 minutes).
