In the photo book Metropolis, Alan Schaller elevates city views to an art form, playing with light and perspective and creates a world in black and white that captivates the viewer. This is what fans of Schaller love about his work. The photo artist manages to capture moments for eternity.
London-based photographer Alan Schaller specialises in black and white photography. His works are often abstract, contain elements of surrealism as well as geometry and are characterised by high contrasts. At the same time, they always illuminate the realities and diversities of human life. He prefers to photograph in London, Havana, Istanbul, New York and Kyoto.
Alan Schaller's work is regularly exhibited, most recently at the Saatchi Gallery London, Leica Galleries in London, Boston, Washington D.C., Sydney and Melbourne and The Edit Space in Milan. In addition, his work has been published in The Guardian, The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Independent, The Washington Post and The Evening Standard, among others.Â
Globally, he has worked with brands including Apple, Philips, Huawei, Union Coffee, Xiaomi phones, Kew Gardens, Nokia, Huntsman of Savile Row and London Fashion Week. Alan Schaller is an ambassador for Leica cameras.
