TPG Takeovers

Supported by MPB

Every weekend we hand over our Instagram grid (@thephotographersgallery) to a different photographer or practitioner as part of our TPG Takeovers programme. Platforming a range of unique bodies of work and perspectives from around the world gives photographers a chance to share the fundamentals of their creative practice, to expand upon current conversations in photography and showcase work or projects which align with what’s on at the Gallery now.

Each month we look back and re-share highlights from our takeovers. To see all the latest takeovers follow us at @thephotographersgallery

TPG Takeovers are supported by MPB (@mpbcom), the world’s largest global platform for used camera gear.

Current #TPGTakeover Artists

In April 2025 we featured:

Evan Purdy (@evan.a.purdy) is a Manchester-born, London-based photographer who sees the camera as meditative tool for introspection to understand the self and the collective. Shooting exclusively analogue and handprinting in the darkroom, he aims to stretch out the process of making an image, rejecting today’s fast-paced image culture. For him, photography is a way to create new intimacies and critical dialogues around ways of being, to understand the self and the collective.

Tshepiso Mazibuko (@intombazane_ethatha_izithombe) is a photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mazibuko was born 1995, in Thokoza South Africa. She uses the medium of photography as a vessel to self-position herself and create links between the political, society, landscape and history.

Haneem Christian (@haneemchristian) is an archivist and filmmaker from Cape Town, South Africa exploring Pan African history through the lens of Queerness. Working through lens-based media, their practice centres African narratives, histories and storytelling – holding community as sacred, divine and critical to their photographic ethics. Christian understands their practice as a critical narrative justice tool.

Oli Kellett (@oli_kellett) is a British artist based in Hastings, UK, who studied at Central Saint Martins in London. For #TPGTakeovers, he will be sharing work from his latest project, Fountains which is currently on show at @hackelburyfineart until 17th May. While Kellett is strongly influenced by painting and the compositional techniques used, he loves the chance moment which one can capture with a photograph and is intrigued by moments of human contemplation.
