Are you interested in developing your commercial practice?

Deliberately informal, The Social includes presentations by photography/arts professionals, offering tips on chosen themes and encourages participants to join the conversation and share their own insights.

The theme for this session is 'working commercially' with photographer Kate Peters and Sarah Williams from Darklight. Together they will offer some background and advice related to the theme.

Biographies:

Originally hailing from the midlands, Kate Peters is based in London and works internationally. An authentic visual storyteller, her multifaceted approach focuses on the relationship between people and place. Highlights in her career journey include a Guardian Weekend Magazine commission to photograph 32 Olympic hopefuls including Sir Chris Hoy, Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah and having her portrait of Julian Assange, the founder of Wikilieaks featured on the cover of TIME magazine. Other clients and publications include: School of Life, BAFTA, Guardian Saturday and National Theatre.

Sarah Williams is Co-Founder of Darklight, a photography, art buying and production platform with her business partner Mimi Gray. With over 15 years of experience in the arts, photography, advertising, and media, Sarah is an accomplished producer, commissioner and curator. She is also committed to fostering a more inclusive creative landscape by championing diverse voices and perspectives. Throughout her career, Sarah has commissioned artists for some of the world’s most iconic brands including Vogue, Coca-Cola, Adidas, NatWest, Canon and Virgin Atlantic.
