This event will be a friendly session for teachers to share ideas, concerns, and experiences of using AI in the classroom. What are the challenges and opportunities of Generative AI? How does this change teaching and learning practices, as well as some of the traditions and paradigms of creative education and knowledge production in art & design? We are particularly interested in how teachers are working with images, and what critical and creative ideas have emerged.
Over the past year a group of teachers, researchers and artists have been working together to produce a classroom resource that introduces some practical activities to address AI literacy. During the event we will screen a short documentary about this work and will distribute our free booklet.
This event forms part of our Ways of [Machine] Seeing project, a collaboration between Art & Design teachers, researchers at London South Bank University, UCL Institute of Education, and The Photographers' Gallery, and has been supported by Responsible AI.
This event is aimed at our network of teachers, but open to anyone interested in AI visual literacy by email request.
