The Photographers' Gallery Website Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to https://thephotographersgallery.org.uk

We are committed to making our website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This website is managed by The Photographers’ Gallery. We have ensured best practice when adding content into our pages across our main site, which means:

  • Our website is responsive so you can zoom in up to 500% without the text spilling off the screen
  • You can change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • You can navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • You can listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
  • Images contain alt-texts
  • Video content contains subtitles where speech takes place
  • We have ensured language used for general information is kept simple and easy to understand.

Compliance status

This website is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard. The evaluation of this website’s compliance has been completed by software specialists at Un.titled.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.

Non-accessible content

We are aware that some of our content can present issues with user accessibility.

We are looking to replace or improve the systems listed below for the following reason(s):

  1. Booking system (Access) - We aim to replace this system by the end of 2026.
  1. Keyboard navigation skips the calendar which selects booking dates – this issue is non-compliant if you use a keyboard to navigate through the website. (Tab, shift, arrow, space and enter keys.)

If you experience issues with booking tickets, please get in touch with our Visitor Relations team on +44 (0)20 7087 9300 or email info@tpg.org.uk

Out-of-scope content

Please note, some of the language used in our content carries a high reading score. However, some specialist terms are essential to the projects that we publish and would impact on the delivery of the projects should they be replaced.
