For more than three decades, South African photographer Jo Ractliffe has trained her lens on the charged landscape of her homeland.
Her publication Photographs 1980s - now is an extensive monograph, nominated for the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2022. Published by Steidl/The Walther Collection in 2021, it includes significant photo-essays, early works and newly published images, richly contextualised by literary references and testimonies from a diverse range of writers, curators and thinkers.
