In a world in which millions of images are shot every moment of every day and fast-paced environments exhaust and stifle creativity, The Mindful Photographer asks how we can slow down, set aside competitive and creative pressures, and allow the practice of photography to restore and enrich us.
Through concepts such as clarity, gratitude and compassion, the speakers will consider ways of image-making that help us live life more fully, freely and fearlessly. They will discuss the challenges of the attention economy, the politics of seeing, and why the cultivation of insight and compassion – twin virtues in any mindfulness practice – feel especially important today.
