Ryan's Biography

Ryan Prince is a photographic artist and researcher who is particularly interested in exploring the polylithic nature of black identities, specifically his own identity as a Black British male from the Jamaican Diaspora. He explores how self-representation within visual languages such as photography works to challenge stereotypes and normalise lived experiences.

He has exhibited with institutions such as the Black Cultural Archives, The National Portrait Gallery and The Royal Photographic Society, also having work featured in publications by The British Journal of Photography, It’s Nice That and Photoworks.

This event is part of our Develop programme. Develop is a three-year programme (2023-2026) that supports and commissions emerging creatives aged 18-24 through a series of talks and workshops around a photography-based outcome each year.
