Clare Grafik, Head of Exhibitions at The Photographers' Gallery on Curating Exhibitions

Event info:

Hear about what’s involved in curating exhibitions in this talk by curator Clare Grafik. She introduces our Archive Display exhibition space, where the Develop curatorial collective will be commissioned to create an exhibition in Summer 2024.

Clare offers an insight into the roles and responsibilities a curator might have in a gallery.

Attendees will gain an understanding of:

-          what a curator does

-          how exhibitions are planned and developed

-          the different of types of skills that come together to produce an exhibition

There is an opportunity to ask questions and join group discussions.

This event forms part of the Develop programme – a new initiative that supports young people (aged 18-24) through photography career-related events and a commissioning opportunity with The Photographers’ Gallery.

Clare Grafik is Head of Exhibitions at The Photographers’ Gallery. She has worked in a number of public institutions in London including the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), Whitechapel Gallery, Hayward Gallery and National Portrait Gallery.
