What is the Develop programme?

Develop is a three-year programme (2023-2026) that supports and commissions emerging creatives through a series of talks and workshops around an annual theme.

'Making an Exhibition' is the theme for 2023/24, specifically addressing the topic of photography and archives. The event programme leads to an application process for becoming part of a curatorial collective, where six 18-24s will curate an exhibition on the third floor of The Photographers' Gallery.

The session is led by Ibrahim (Ibby) Azab who will talk about his experience working with commercial and public galleries as an artist, educator, and freelance technician.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and join group discussions.

Participants taking part will gain an understanding of:

- what a freelance role can look like

- how to get into freelance commercial roles

- basic picture framing and exhibition installation

- materials and framing costs
