Join photographer and director James Pearson-Howes for an open and practical session on building your portfolio, finding your strengths and feeling more confident sharing your work. With over 20 years of experience, including campaigns for Nike, Adidas and Apple, and editorial work for Vogue and i-D, James will share what he’s learnt along the way, including the ups and downs of working as a photographer.
We’ll look at what makes your work stand out, how to approach clients and how to deal with rejection, self-doubt and creative blocks.
Bring your work! Send three of your favourite images to develop@tpg.org.uk by 12 January. James will print them and put them up on the wall on the night, giving everyone a chance to share their work and see what others are making.
By booking for this event you agree to our Terms & Conditions.
What is Develop in practice?
Develop in practice is a new series of group sessions for up to 20 people aged 18–24, each session is led by an industry professional who will share insights into their practice, explore a specific topic or area of the creative industries, and offer practical advice based on their experience.
People will have the opportunity to ask questions, take part in an activity, and connect with others interested in the field. Each session is designed to help participants develop new skills, gain insight into different creative careers, and leave with practical advice they can apply to their own practice. And, meet new people!
