Develop Workshop: Between Worlds and writing for video games

A workshop on virtual worlds, writing for video games, and the relationship between agency and audience

This event is part of our Past Programme

Between Worlds is an exhibition that explores virtual worlds. Our everyday lives have been digitised and scattered through different spaces since the internet was created. In this exhibition, we explore the social exchanges, digital artefacts and politics that  inform our current experiences of online life.

In this workshop, you will be invited to use the World Imagining Game – a video game where you play through the lifecycle of new and invented virtual worlds. Through the eyes of a games writer, we will think about the potential audiences for these worlds, and how we can frame our own stories.

This workshop is led by Chrystal Ding, an artist and writer who is currently the Associate Writing Lead at video game developer Larian Studios, and Arieh Frosh, Digital Producer at The Photographers’ Gallery.

The workshop runs from 12pm - 3pm

This event is part of the Develop youth programme which is open to 14 to 24 year olds. Please only sign up if you are within the age bracket.
