Deborah Turbeville: Photocollage presents Turbeville's trailblazing photographic explorations, from fashion photos to her very personal work. Bringing together unique pieces, the exhibition will show Turbeville's highly personal artistic universe which has been credited with transforming fashion imagery into avant-garde art.

Biography:
Originally trained as a civil engineer, Eugenie Shinkle went on to study photography, art history, and critical theory, obtaining her doctorate from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2003. Her practice includes both visual and written work, and reflects interests which have developed over a 20-year period, incorporating a number of different fields bound together by a common theoretical and methodological focus on the haptic and embodied dimensions of our relations with images and image-making technologies. Recent projects have included areas such as landscape, architecture and fashion photography. She is editor of the online photobook platform c4journal, and also writes widely for a range of publications including Foam, Aperture, The Journal of Architecture, Art Journal, and 1000Words. She is the author of Fashion Photography: The Story in 180 Pictures (2017, Thames & Hudson) amongst other publications.
