Join us, and Lakeside Darkroom for a Black & White Photowalk and Film Development workshop on Saturday 4 October.

All abilities welcome. Just bring your 35mm camera. 

Starting from 11:00 at Lakeside Darkroom, we shall explore the Iconic Thamesmead area (known from films such as Clockwork Orange & Misfits) (closest station is Abbey Wood)  before heading back to the darkroom to develop the film!

About the B&W Film Processing Workshop 

Our practical workshop will teach you the essentials of film development. You’ll have the chance to learn each step of film developing, all the chemicals employed, and all the techniques to create a perfect negative. You’ll learn the correct way to load film into a processing tank, mix chemicals for developing film, understand the steps involved in developing black and white film (dilution, precise timing, and careful agitation). This course is tailored for beginners and those looking to brush up on their film-developing skills.

Lakeside Darkroom (LKSD) is a Community Interest Company with a feminist ethos, devoted to analogue photography. Established in August 2022, LKSD is more than a darkroom – it is a welcoming place where creativity, experimentation and community come together.

Collaboration and the freedom to make mistakes are at the heart of what we do. We see photography, much like life itself, as a process of learning, questioning and sometimes reshaping the rules.
