The Social: Doing Social Media

6:30pm, Wed 13 Mar 2024

Our free, informal advice and networking session based around a theme

This event is part of our Past Programme

Deliberately informal, The Social includes presentations by photography/arts professionals, offering tips on chosen themes and encourages participants to join the conversation and share their own insights.

We'll hear a short talk by each invited speaker and leave time to discuss the theme as a group. The theme for this session is ‘doing social media’ with Jessica Miller and Chloe Orji.

Speakers' Biogs:

Jessica Miller studied Fine Art at Loughborough University, where she specialised in photography and graduated in 2017. Following this she went on to manage the social media at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation, and West Dean Gardens. In 2020, Jessica also studied MA Museums, Galleries and Contemporary Culture at University of Westminster, where she curated the online photography exhibition Materiality Exposed and graduated with Distinction. She joined Amateur Photographer in 2021 and as Deputy Online Editor is responsible for managing AP’s social media, creating web content and working with community groups.

Chloe Orji is Communications Coordinator at The Photographers' Gallery, and responsible for all its social media platforms including Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and TikTok. She studied MA Television Journalism at City, University of London and has a background working in the digital news sector. Her interest in writing extends beyond social media and she writes fiction and poetry in her spare time.
