Clara Cowan introduces ways to explore the history of art and photography in A-level Art and Design in an exciting and relevant way. This includes examining photography’s relationship with art, truth, science, politics, history, and culture.
She will demonstrate how these topics can be linked to key photographic movements including Modernism, Pictorialism, and Post Modernism. As well as with practical tasks that she undertakes with students including camera obscura, chemigrams, and cyanotypes, Photoshop, photobooks as well as photography as sculpture.
Clara Cowan is a photography teacher at Parliament Hill School, with a background in Art History.
