Gaia Tedone explored and analysed the online circulation and curation of networked images. By tracing the circulatory patterns of a specific visual object, an H&M t-shirt printed with the text ‘This Image is Not Available in Your Country’, she immersed the audience and herself in the entanglements between image circulation, (self-)branding and commodification, exposing the invisible boundaries and power structures of the networks.

Biography
Gaia Tedone is a curator and researcher with an expansive interest in the technologies and apparatuses of image formation. She completed her PhD at the Centre for the Study of the Networked Image, London South Bank University with a practice-based research entitled ‘Curating The Networked Image: Circulation, Commodification, Computation’ (2019). Around this topic, she writes, teaches and curates. Currently, she is working on a research project entitled ‘Curating Photography in The Networked Image Economy’ at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where she investigates post-photography curating and algorithmic visual culture.
