This event is part of our Past Programme

Joana Moll hosted a critical exploration through the world of data marketplaces and the economic role of profile pics from dating websites. Participants got a glimpse into the hidden mechanics of selling and buying private images and data without the users’ knowledge. They were drawn into the invisible circulation of images as currency and got rare insight into the role of data brokers and transactions.

Screen Walks is a new series of live-streamed artist/researcher-led explorations of online spaces and artistic strategies designed to illuminate a thriving – often overlooked – digital cultural scene. A new online collaboration between The Photographers’ Gallery, UK and Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland.
