This event is part of our Past Programme
Winnie Soon leads a virtual studio tour of her/their artistic and technical world, exploring work-in-progress and messy imaginaries.
The walk focuses on diagramming practice via double coding, an experimental artistic practice transforming the spatial and temporal relationships between data, objects, entities, flows and thoughts.
The artist will explore the question – how might we consider a diagram as an image of thought and begin to unfold the complexity of coded images?
Screen Walk with Winnie Soon
Screen Walks is a new series of live-streamed artist/researcher-led explorations of online spaces and artistic strategies designed to illuminate a thriving – often overlooked – digital cultural scene. A new online collaboration between The Photographers’ Gallery, UK and Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Winnie Soon is an artist-researcher interested in queering the intersections of technical and artistic practices as a critical praxis, with works appearing in museums, galleries, festivals, distributed networks, papers and books. Researching in the areas of software studies and computational practices, she/they is currently based in Denmark and working as Associate Professor at Aarhus University. More: siusoon.net
