Magazine Launch: BJP Love + Ukraine Issue

6:00pm, Thu 21 Apr 2022

Join us to celebrate the launch of the new issue of the British Journal of Photography, in support of aid for Ukraine

This event is part of our Past Programme

At this event, the British Journal of Photography will present its latest issue of two themes: Love and Ukraine. As the magazine entered the production phase of the Love issue in February, Russia launched a full-scale invasion into Ukraine. Standing in solidarity with Ukraine, BJP felt it was crucial to give a platform to Ukrainian photographers and those documenting the war. You will find this special series of features, which include work by Mark Neville, Caimi | Piccinni, Yelena Yemchuk, Nazar Furyk, Kateryna Radchenko, Alina Smutko, Mikhail Palinchak, Pavlo Dorogoy, Anton Shebetko, Yulia Krivich and Pavlo Borshchenko, in the upcoming print issue.

All proceeds from the magazines and special edition posters sold on the night will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

British Journal of Photography is the world’s oldest photography title, launched in 1854. The bimonthly magazine and digital platform explore rich and timely stories of art, culture, politics and society through contemporary photography. It is published by 1854 Media, which also includes a portfolio of celebrated awards and exhibitions including Portrait of Britain and Female in Focus.

The Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal is made up of 15 member charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialise in different areas of disaster response. They come together to speak in one voice and make fundraising more efficient when launching an appeal.
