This event is part of our Past Programme

In partnership with Guardian Live, join us for an online event with Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik and curator Karen McQuaid to mark The Picture Library . To accompany the exhibition, Malik has written an essay that asks: how can photojournalism be used as a powerful tool for telling stories without being influenced by unconscious biases? How has the ‘Us and Them’ narrative perpetuated negative stereotypes? And what will these images tell us about what we have not questioned enough, and who or what we have enabled?

Hear Malik and McQuaid in discussion about the progressive power of photojournalism, as they dissect the urgent points highlighted in the exhibition.

Details on how to access the talk will be confirmed upon registration. Please check your junk folders if you haven't received an email confirming your place.Â
