Workshop: Making Games with Downpour

6:00pm, Tue 31 Mar 2026

As part of Connection Established, Join V Buckenham for a short introduction to making games with Downpour.

There's a long history of people making machines that can tell fortunes or predict the future. From Magic 8 balls to indie games like Wishfishing, it's fertile ground for experiencing the mystery of technology and providing a space for fun and reflection. And now we're going to join in!

Come along to this workshop and we'll explore the history of these machines, and then we'll make one ourselves using Downpour, an approachable game creation tool recently launched by V.

Workshop information

Bring your a smartphone. You can install Downpour in advance if you'd like.

If there's a particular book or magazine you find resonant and might find it interesting to base your fortune-teller on, bring that along too.
