Name a Step

Be part of our history and help support our future.

The Photographers' Gallery opened its doors to the public for the first time in 1971. To celebrate our 50th anniversary whilst looking forward to securing the Gallery’s future, we are launching a Name a Step campaign to commemorate individual contributions in the very fabric of our building.

For £2,500* you will have the opportunity to name one of the steps in the central gallery stairwell with a bespoke gold and black anniversary plaque – celebrating your contribution in your name, or with the name of your loved ones. In this special anniversary year, your donation will provide vital funds for the Gallery to continue championing photography for everyone in the future.

Education, access and social inclusion are at the heart of who we are and inform everything we do. Your support will play a vital part in TPG’s history this special year and ensure that we can continue our mission of showcasing timely exhibitions, presenting new artists and encouraging the next generation of photographers.

Please get in contact with our Development Department to support now or for further information at development@tpg.org.uk.

* Please note that the opportunity to name a step is available to any supporter in return for a minimum payment of £500. However, we encourage supporters to make a donation of £2,000 or more in addition to the minimum payment for the plaque, to help support the Gallery. Provided that eligibility requirements are met, the donation element will qualify for Gift Aid and The Photographers’ Gallery will submit appropriate claims to HM Revenue & Customs.
